Every other contest plugin that I’ve looked at has a bunch of features I don’t want, is clunky to use and doesn’t have the features I do want. It’s just SUCH a shame that it appears to be abandoned. I’d happily pay for an updated version that perhaps allows for a bit more customization as far as the styling goes. It still works on my website, but does throw an error (which does not seem to be critical) and no longer integrates with mail chimp (so I need to do many .cvs exports and then import into Mail chimp which isn’t a big deal, but it was awesome when the auto integration still worked.) You will get locked out of your website. I had to hire a developer to get me back in and deactivate this plugin until I can find a replacement. I spent hundreds of dollars for people to write Author quizzes for me and now I will need to spend more to have someone change those over to another platform. Fantastic plugin and never had any issues with it. Was recommended this plugin through many sites and articles (old and recent) as a free, lightweight solution. I tried to get it to work on my main WordPress installation as well as a separate / clean WordPress installation in a subdomain (no plugins other than contestfriend installed). Same results as my main installation. I am able to create a contest and then add it to a page but entry submission does nothing. No participant added to the database or under the Dashboard tab, no confirmation email received. After clicking the submission button the page reloads back to the “before submit” rather than the “after submit” On a lighter note, I am also experiencing the image insertion problem some others have run into. I have to manually add each image I want to use. No solutions or support has been given. It’s been 2+ years since an update and looks to be abandoned.
