Expiry follows the \"Cookie expiration\" setting (365\ndays by default). This is a strictly necessary cookie: it contains only the\nconsent state, no identifiers or personal data, and storing it does not\nitself require consent under GDPR\/ePrivacy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>cc_geo<\/strong> \u2014 only set when the optional Geo-targeting feature is enabled.\nCaches the resolved region behavior for 24 hours so the region lookup does\nnot repeat on every page view. Contains a region behavior string and a\ntimestamp, no personal data. When Geo-targeting is disabled, the plugin\nremoves this cookie from returning visitors automatically.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>If \"Storage method\" is set to localStorage instead of cookies, consent\nchoices are kept in the browser's localStorage under the same key and no\nconsent cookie is set.<\/p>\n\n<h3>External Services<\/h3>\n\n<p>This plugin makes no connections to any third-party service and sends no data\nanywhere. The consent banner, visitor choices, consent-gated script loading,\nregion rules, and Google Consent Mode signals are all handled entirely on your\nown WordPress install. No visitor or end-user data ever leaves your site, and\nno external scripts, fonts, or stylesheets are loaded.<\/p>\n\n<p>A separate, optional CoreConsent Pro plugin (sold from our website, not hosted\non WordPress.org) adds automatic scanning, custom styling, and other features.\nTwo of its optional features involve external services, both disclosed on the\nPro download page: license activation\/updates through its licensing service,\nand an optional web-font picker served by Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net), a\nzero-logging Google Fonts mirror. Neither is part of this plugin.<\/p>\n\n<!--section=installation-->\n<ol>\n<li>Upload the <code>coreconsent<\/code> folder to <code>\/wp-content\/plugins\/<\/code>, or install through Plugins \u2192 Add New.<\/li>\n<li>Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.<\/li>\n<li>Go to Settings \u2192 CoreConsent.<\/li>\n<li>Add the services you use (for example Google Analytics), customize the banner text, and save.<\/li>\n<li>Optional: enable Google Consent Mode v2 under the Consent Mode section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<!--section=faq-->\n<dl>\n<dt id=\"does%20this%20make%20my%20site%20gdpr%20or%20privacy-law%20compliant%3F\"><h3>Does this make my site GDPR or privacy-law compliant?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>No plugin can do that on its own. CoreConsent gives you the controls \u2014 a consent banner, consent-gated script loading, and Google Consent Mode signals \u2014 but how you configure them, and what your legal obligations are, is up to you. If you're unsure, talk to someone qualified in privacy law for your situation.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"how%20do%20i%20make%20sure%20my%20google%20analytics%20or%20google%20tag%20waits%20for%20consent%3F\"><h3>How do I make sure my Google Analytics or Google tag waits for consent?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Add it the supported way so CoreConsent controls it: configure it as a service in Settings \u2192 CoreConsent, or tag the script with <code>type=\"text\/plain\"<\/code> and a <code>data-cc-name<\/code> attribute. CoreConsent then loads it only after the visitor consents. If you paste a <code>gtag<\/code> snippet directly high in your theme's <code>&lt;head&gt;<\/code>, it can run before the consent default is set \u2014 so add it through the normal method, or place it after CoreConsent's output. Pro's scanning and Script Manager handle this for you.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"does%20it%20support%20google%20consent%20mode%20v2%3F\"><h3>Does it support Google Consent Mode v2?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes, in the free version. CoreConsent sets all v2 consent signals to denied by default and updates them when the visitor makes a choice. Google tags load after consent (consent-gated mode).<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20it%20work%20with%20my%20caching%20plugin%20or%20host%20cache%3F\"><h3>Will it work with my caching plugin or host cache?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>Yes. Consent is applied in the visitor's browser, and the page HTML is the same for everyone, so your pages cache normally. After you change which services are blocked, clear your page cache so the change takes effect right away.<\/p><\/dd>\n<dt id=\"will%20it%20slow%20down%20my%20site%3F\"><h3>Will it slow down my site?<\/h3><\/dt>\n<dd><p>It's designed not to.
