When you upload an image using Media Uploader, WordPress generates multiple copies/thumbnails of that image. By default, WordPress generates 5 thumbnails-

Thumbnail
Medium
Medium-large
Large
Scaled

But along with this, theme and plugin developers can register their own thumbnails. Although they may be on purpose, but sometimes they remain unused.

Think about it, unnecessary additional images are eating up your server space and slowing down your site!

Instalação

Upload image-sizes to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress
Go to Image Sizes menu from the left and choose which of the sizes you want to prevent from generating.

Does it work with multisite?: Yes, it’s fully compatible with WordPress multisite installations
Does it work with WooCommerce?: Yes, it does.
What about my old thumbnails?: From version 3.0 and higher, you can now regenerate thumbnails of your existing images. Just go to the Regenerate Thumbnails tab and click on the Regenerate button.

Good, for regenerate large number of folders it go slower, but you can change your image folders permissions to 0000, except the folder you want to regenerate keep accesss for it so to quickly pass and regenerate specific image folder/s. i hope it support php 8 soon. thank you guys

This went from a simple plugin that was useful to garbage in a short time. It still works but you pay a big price for installing their "free" plugin. Keep looking...

I really hate this kind of "marketing". It's old school and inappropriate. I now have to log in and edit/delete the plugin from all my clients' websites.
