WooCommerce Services

Descrição

WooCommerce Services makes basic eCommerce features like shipping more reliable by taking the burden off of your site’s infrastructure.

With WooCommerce Services, critical services are hosted on Automattic’s best-in-class infrastructure, rather than relying on your store’s hosting. That means your store will be more stable and faster.

To use the features, simply install this plugin and activate the ones you want directly in your dashboard. As we add more services, you’ll see more features available directly in WooCommerce – making setup simpler.

No idea how this plugin ended up being installed on my website. It almost behaves like malware, if it's installed it seems to advertises Jetpack with ads you cannot dismiss.

My love / hate relationship with WooCommerce continues... Seriously if it wasn't for WooCommerce Subscriptions I'm pretty sure I'd find something else besides Woo. First WooCommerce harasses you to install WooCommerce Services... misleading you into thinking it's "needed" for Stripe or Paypal. It's not. Then WooCommerce Services hijacks your dashboard with a billboard demanding you to install JetPack as well... No... no... no... and none of it is needed. Just delete it all. Use ShipStation or PirateShipping for printing labels if you need that one feature.

I would love to rate this high, but the truth is it's more of a pain in the ass to use than it's worth. 1. They've removed shipping calculation. It's their plugin so they can do what they want, but it really feels like the pulled the rug out from under us. The site quoting and build process can take months. When we quoted the client the shipping calculation was included, now we have to try and sell them a paid alternative. Don't give us something and then take it away. Nobody likes that. 2. The automatic tax calculation would be great, unless you have a product that has a different tax rate. For one client their book has a flat 5% tax rate in Canada. I created a different tax class for this product and set the rates, but this plugin kept overwriting it with the default rates. This plugin SHOULD NOT be affecting anything other than Standard Rates. It basically removes that entire functionality from WooCommerce. Not sure what they were thinking here. Needs a lot of work before I would consider using this again. It's just lots of promises but in reality unreliable.
